It all started with the planning of our daughter's 18th birthday party. The venue - on the banks of the Edisto River in the Lowcountry of SC. The menu - A Lowcountry Boil, one of the coastal south's finest staples featuring shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes.
We had nothing to serve our delicious Lowcountry Boil in that suited our special birthday table! Newspaper spread out on a table would just not do!
We designed a wooden trough that would take our boil from pot to table. Our trough needed to be sturdy enough and large enough to accommodate 75 guests. Our trough needed to be easy to handle - we wanted to go from pot to serving vessel to table. And our trough needed to be casual but elegant, just like our coastal way of life here in the Lowcountry of SC.
